Google Timer Tech Tip

For this I tried out the google timer in my browser, and it is pretty cool. I had no idea that this was a feature you could use. Something like this will help me stay focused and finishing my tasks when I am supposed to be doing them. Often small things take me way longer than they should just because I am distracted. I look forward to using this.

Microfiction: Luka Doncic

Image
-"Luka Doncic" USA Today-  The Don, The Wizard, The Prodigy. 6'7 and from Slovenia. He was raised from a small boy to prepare for this, he had almost become a robot at this point. He could dribble, pass, and shoot; averaging league highs in all these categories. 3 teams passing on him in the draft only fueled his fire, how could you not pick the 18 year old foreign MVP. His first year in the NBA he won rookie of the year, and second year All-NBA first team. Taking the league by storm, only 21. That leaves us asking him one question. What's next? 6 word story From the goat, to the don Author's Note I wanted to write this about my favorite player Luka Doncic. He is one of the most promising players in the league if not the most. I summarized what he has done so far in the first story. The second story is kind of a play on how I think Luka is the next face of the NBA after Lebron.

Image
I am back to reading today, and should have my story telling done by later. The mantra Kunti did for her son made him destined for success. It was kind of weird she went to drop him off in the river, but I guess she can't hold him back anymore. He is the son of the son God. Pandu went and dwelled in the forrest with his family, but then he shot a hermit with his bow and arrow. The hermit cursed Pandu if he slept with a woman he would die. Kunti can summon gods to get children. She called the gods and Yama answers and he will be given a child. He forced himself on the woman and both of them died. The Pandavas was born. The blind wife heard of this so she got rid of her child, then the gods came and cursed her to have 100 sons. The oldest was angry and wanted to kill the other cousins. He invited the Pandas to a retreat. Gave them sleep inducing herbs and planned on pushing one of them into the lake. Poison snakes bit the prince but the king of snakes came and gave him the strength ...

Week 8 Progress

Image
Progress     So far this semester I have enjoyed this class. I wouldn't say my progress is exceptional so far, but I think I have been doing a good job. I really enjoyed my story that I worked on about the men at sea. I really felt like I put good work into that and it showed in the final product. The class assignments I enjoy the most are the story ones for sure. I like the reading but being able to create my own product is really fun. My blog is good so far but I definitely need to make it a little better before the end of the semester.     The main thing I want to do for the rest of the semester is to finish more of my work early in the week and not put it off to the last minute. I have been really busy this semester with two jobs so I have had a hard time prioritizing my free time. My job is about to be over for the semester so I really see myself picking up the slack. -"Power of Positivity"-

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
Comments and Feedback        To me of one of the best things about this class is the ability to connect with other students and also see the work that they are doing. The feedback that I have been getting is really helpful. You can tell that people really take their time to sit down and read your work and you give you thought out and processed feedback. The feedback that I have been giving out is good I believe, but I can definitely get more purposely with my work. I have liked using the Wow feedback strategy the most. It helps me address all the points I need to give someone when I am reviewing their work. I feel like in this class more than others right now I am getting a sense of who my classmates are and what they enjoy. I feel like the posts I have enjoyed reading the most are everyones introductions posts. I want to set up my comment wall to be a little for open so everyone can give me the feedback they are trying to. I also want to focus on giving more c...

Week 7 Story: Los Abandonados

Image
Portfolio edition Los Abandonados      -Jardin Colombia by Pedro Szekely-        Back in Colombia in the 1980s the drug war was just beginning to step up. The government had finally been taking a stance against the drug cartels. In Southern Colombia the police had begun to raid cartels and seize their land and break up their operations. Now, there was a cartel called "Los Abandonados" or "The Forsaken" and this was a family cartel. There were three sons who when their father died were fighting to be named the new family lead of the cartel. The three brothers while all had the same father, each had a different mother. Julio, the middle child, had a servant mother and he knew would never have the chance to take over the cartel so he always looked out for his younger brother Jose. The oldest, Pablo, was an erratic soul and would rather see one his brother die than lose the chance of running the family business.      Pablo heard that hi...

Reading Notes: PDE Mahabharata Part B

Image
Reading Notes Part B- Albert Straub on Flickr The House of Fire- Prince Vidura was always the wiser brother of the three but since his mother was a servant he was never thought to be worthy of sitting on the throne. They notice that all the furniture is soaked in oil, and they begin to fear that the king is planning on setting them on fire. Prince Vidura dug a tunnel out of the castle in case this happened, and covered it up well. The captain set the castle on fire. It also caught fire of another palace. They thought they had succeeded but the queen escaped. I really enjoyed this story it kind of reminds me from Game of Thrones when the Lannisters set the great meeting place on fire. I plan on using this story for my story later in the week. Some of the other things I enjoyed reading from this section as a whole was the story when Prince Arjuna saved the cursed water nymphs. The other crazy part was when the soul entered Khrisna's body allowing him to keep on living. I thought th...

Vishnu Down a Different Path

Image
The gods lead by Indra went up to Brahma to talk to Vishnua about their problem with Ravana. Ravana had performed tasks in the past that had granted him immunity to gods and demons. Vishnua was interested by this problem and thought he could maybe go down there himself as a human. However, he would have a demi-god son rather who would be able to take down Ravana himself. He knew King Dasharatha had 3 queens so he would only have to sleep with one of them. He knew Sumitra had asked him for a favor and that she would have to repay him. He went down to Ayodhya and found her sleeping in her chambers. He went up to her and woke her up and explained his problem. She was accepted his proposal because she was so thankful for what he had done for her before. He left her and told her to send for his messenger when the son was about to be had. He wanted her to explain to her husband the problem even though it will not his son, it will be a part of him family. Vishnu's demigod son was born Ra...

Story Laboratory

Image
This week I wrote a twine story. This was a really fun activity but it was also long in a way too. I found that as the more choices you made the story kept getting longer and longer to finish. My story was about a guy named John who went to a hotel and he was running from the cops because he robbed a bank. The choices led you to a single or a double room which decided if you friend and wife would be coming. It was an interesting experience to say the least. I don't think I see myself using this program for this class, but I really enjoyed having a play with it. It reminded me of a movie on Netflix a few years ago that you could play as you went along with the movie.  -"The Broken Legacy" my storybook-

He sent out spies and they came back telling him to surrender. So Ravana tries to deceive Sita telling her that he killed Rama, but then Ravana gets called out to war.     During the Battle Ravans son Indrajit was using magic and began to injure a lot of the monkeys. Image
Part B- I will be doing C later this week and D as extra credit -Sita the Indian Goddess, artnindia.com- The beginning of the story starts with Rama's brother Bharata who was recently proclaimed the throne. His mother had sent out for him to be brought back to the kingdom, and he arrived and found out his father had died and his brother had been exiled. He said he would not get on the throne and would have Rama returned. The next part describes how Bharata has to perform the funeral rites for his father before he can go find Rama, he doesn't want to do this because he is grieving. Bharata finds Rama in the jungle and asks him to come back to the kingdom, but Rama says he can't go because he made a promise to his father that he would attend to the sire, and he says he would rather be a dead man than to commit those evil doing. Since it is their fathers wishes Bharata decides he will stay with Rama until he can return to the kingdom in 14 years. Bharata gives Rama gold sanda...
