Week 9 Story: Family Man

Image
Family Man -Fisherman by Boudewijn- The wise fisherman headed back to the shore after he had just caught the biggest fish of his life. He knew this fish would sell enough for him to pay for the next 6 months of his living. He knew he was not going to be on this Earth that much longer. He headed to the fish shop to sell his fish. "Hello sir , I just caught they biggest fish that has been taken out of this ocean" the wiser fisherman said. "Wow, that fish is amazing. I will give you $900 dollars for that fish." the fish shop over said back. "Well you see, I would like to give this fish to you for free, but I want you to give my grandson 10$ for every fish he brings in here no questions asked for the rest of his life" replied the fisherman. The fish shop owner agreed, thinking that his grandson will never bring in enough fish to cover anywhere near the 900$. The wise fisherman went home to talk to his grandson. He told him to sit down and listen and said, &quo

Week 9 Reading The Mahabharata Videos Epified Part B

I am back to reading today, and should have my story telling done by later. The mantra Kunti did for her son made him destined for success. It was kind of weird she went to drop him off in the river, but I guess she can't hold him back anymore. He is the son of the son God. Pandu went and dwelled in the forrest with his family, but then he shot a hermit with his bow and arrow. The hermit cursed Pandu if he slept with a woman he would die. Kunti can summon gods to get children. She called the gods and Yama answers and he will be given a child. He forced himself on the woman and both of them died. The Pandavas was born. The blind wife heard of this so she got rid of her child, then the gods came and cursed her to have 100 sons. The oldest was angry and wanted to kill the other cousins. He invited the Pandas to a retreat. Gave them sleep inducing herbs and planned on pushing one of them into the lake. Poison snakes bit the prince but the king of snakes came and gave him the strength

Week 8 Progress

Image
Progress     So far this semester I have enjoyed this class. I wouldn't say my progress is exceptional so far, but I think I have been doing a good job. I really enjoyed my story that I worked on about the men at sea. I really felt like I put good work into that and it showed in the final product. The class assignments I enjoy the most are the story ones for sure. I like the reading but being able to create my own product is really fun. My blog is good so far but I definitely need to make it a little better before the end of the semester.     The main thing I want to do for the rest of the semester is to finish more of my work early in the week and not put it off to the last minute. I have been really busy this semester with two jobs so I have had a hard time prioritizing my free time. My job is about to be over for the semester so I really see myself picking up the slack. -"Power of Positivity"-

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
Comments and Feedback        To me of one of the best things about this class is the ability to connect with other students and also see the work that they are doing. The feedback that I have been getting is really helpful. You can tell that people really take their time to sit down and read your work and you give you thought out and processed feedback. The feedback that I have been giving out is good I believe, but I can definitely get more purposely with my work. I have liked using the Wow feedback strategy the most. It helps me address all the points I need to give someone when I am reviewing their work. I feel like in this class more than others right now I am getting a sense of who my classmates are and what they enjoy. I feel like the posts I have enjoyed reading the most are everyones introductions posts. I want to set up my comment wall to be a little for open so everyone can give me the feedback they are trying to. I also want to focus on giving more criticism in my comments

Week 7 Story: Los Abandonados

Image
Portfolio edition Los Abandonados      -Jardin Colombia by Pedro Szekely-        Back in Colombia in the 1980s the drug war was just beginning to step up. The government had finally been taking a stance against the drug cartels. In Southern Colombia the police had begun to raid cartels and seize their land and break up their operations. Now, there was a cartel called "Los Abandonados" or "The Forsaken" and this was a family cartel. There were three sons who when their father died were fighting to be named the new family lead of the cartel. The three brothers while all had the same father, each had a different mother. Julio, the middle child, had a servant mother and he knew would never have the chance to take over the cartel so he always looked out for his younger brother Jose. The oldest, Pablo, was an erratic soul and would rather see one his brother die than lose the chance of running the family business.      Pablo heard that his father was favoring because his

Reading Notes Part B- Albert Straub on Flickr The House of Fire- Prince Vidura was always the wiser brother of the three but since his mother was a servant he was never thought to be worthy of sitting on the throne. They notice that all the furniture is soaked in oil, and they begin to fear that the king is planning on setting them on fire. Prince Vidura dug a tunnel out of the castle in case this happened, and covered it up well. The captain set the castle on fire. It also caught fire of another palace. They thought they had succeeded but the queen escaped. I really enjoyed this story it kind of reminds me from Game of Thrones when the Lannisters set the great meeting place on fire. I plan on using this story for my story later in the week. Some of the other things I enjoyed reading from this section as a whole was the story when Prince Arjuna saved the cursed water nymphs. The other crazy part was when the soul entered Khrisna's body allowing him to keep on living. I thought th

The girls name was Satyavati and she was promised by the king if she stayed a virgin she would lose the fishy smell and smell beautiful. King Shatanu and Ganga: Ganga had made a deal that would make her the mother of the 8 Vasuses, and the King courted her and made her his wife. She told him if he was ever mean to him she would leave him. Everytime one one of the Vasuses was born she would drown them in the river and the king never wanted to say anything because he did not want Ganga to leave him.
